Work is very stressful, demanding and exhilarating all at once.  And yet, most of what I paint in the end is a bunch of pretty faces and doesn’t really represent what I experience internally or what I observe happening within my lifetime.  I want to be able to be free enough and creatively smart enough to connect my observations about the world in which I live with the themes/focus of what I paint in the future.  For now, another pretty girl.

but on the other side of this window is a world I could hardly have imagined

Where it’s everyone for themselves

Just listen to  the news and observe how people treat each other

Making false promises and pointing fingers

Wearing coats of grandeur embroidered with self-promotion

Where the word “love” is only a four letter word

Where pissing on dead soldiers is more abhorrent than the act of war itself

Where hypocrisy is the daily fare and superficiality is the dessert

I am here

I hear

I hear the sounds of humanity destructing

As I continue to push that rock up the hill.
